A cosy Cripps Barn wedding
I first met Dan and Kiri (Love this spelling) at our pre-wedding photo shoot in Cirencester. On the day of their pre-wedding shoot, the sky was black and bruised and threatening to rain, which it did do about 20 minutes into the session. Big fat droplets of rain that made us run for cover. We still got some gorgeous shots though, which you can see below.
The big day arrives at Cripps Barn…
So, I have to admit that Cripps Barn actually took my breath away when I walked in. It is truly such a stunning intimate venue. The barn dates back to the 1700’s and there is actually a date carved in the wall which is May 4th 1794 (My Mums birthday..may 4th not 1794 Ha ha !) which is really incredible and such an honor to get married in such a beautiful and old building. The staff are fantastic and Flora welcomed me warmly and showed me around. I started by capturing the details of the barn, the decor, the gorgeous floral arrangements and the table decor. A short while later Dan arrived and the guests soon began filling up the barn. Kiri was a truly beautiful vision walking though the double doors on her dad’s arm and I just LOVE Dan’s expression seeing his ‘wife to be’ in her wedding dress. The short and very sweet ceremony took place in front of the crackling fire and was just perfect from beginning to end.
A bit of bride and groom time ….
I like to give my bride and groom a bit of time to relax after the ceremony, have a glass of bubbly and say ‘hi’ to guests. Once everyone has had a chance to chat a bit, I like to do the family photos and then straight after that, have a bit of ‘one on one’ time with the happy couple. My shooting style is super relaxed and having done a pre-wedding shoot by the time the Big Day arrives, means that I’m well acquainted with my couple and we are all very comfortable around each other. This particular Cripps Barn wedding was on a very chilly day (some would say freezing) but I don’t think you can tell that from their photos :) :) We spent about 20 minutes getting the shots before we headed in, worried that Kiri was getting hypothermia! Hello England in March!
A simply stunning Cripps Barn wedding reception …
The reception area at Cripps Barn is simply gorgeous with a real sense of warmth and intimacy to it…..I spent a bit of time capturing guests chatting and generally enjoying themselves and then left everyone to enjoy their meal. I have to say the food is simply amazing! And the cake….oh my word…I would not have the heart to cut into such a beautiful cake!
Enjoy every sunset …
Before the evening got into full swing, I managed to steal a few minutes with Dan and Kiri and we took advantage of the absolutely gorgeous sunset…
Thank you to Dan and Kiri for having me as your photographer. I loved every minute of your wedding day and wish you an eternity of happiness together. ❤️
