A Cotswold wedding…

This absolutely stunning Cotswold wedding took place at the very lovely, Crown of Crucis wedding venue, situated just outside of Cirencester in the delightful village of Ampney Crucis.  I had met Kerry and James previously when i did their pre wedding shoot. Their pre wedding shoot was a lot of fun, very relaxed and I got some great photos of this lovely couple:)  Their wedding turned out to be very similar, a lovely relaxed enjoyable day which was just a pleasure to photograph.

A warm and sunny wedding …

On the day of the wedding, the weather was absolutely lovely. Sunny and warm. The Crown of Crucis wedding venue is fortunate to be situated next to a very pretty river, flanked by mature trees and equipped with ducks and a gorgeous bridge. When i arrived the venue just looked so lovely and I was confident we were set for a really lovely day. I arrived fairly early for bridal prep. Kerry was relaxed and I got some absolutely stunning photos of her in her beautiful wedding gown. I particularly love the shot of her dad walking into the room and seeing his beautiful daughter all dressed up. I love moments like that and photos like that will make me smile (and I’m sure Kerry too) for many years to come.  The day flowed nicely from bridal prep. Once James had met with the registrar it was time for him to wait for Kerry to come down the aisle. James and Kerry have a beautiful little girl together, and it was touching to see Kerry walking down the aisle with her father and her little girl. The happy couple were married just a short while later and we moved out onto the cricket lawns to take the formal shots. I picked a very pretty spot under the tree and the light was just glorious:)  Once the formal shots were done, we moved onto my favourite photos of the day, the Bride and Groom portrait photos. I love shooting these and I put a lot of thought into where we shoot them.  Having already done the pre wedding shoot, James and Kerry were very relaxed and comfortable with me, so their portrait shots were pretty easy to shoot and we got some really stunning emotionally rich photos.

A cake to kick the diet to the curb for …

After that, it was time for the wedding breakfast, followed by the speeches which are always entertaining to listen to (and observe) and then the cake cutting. Now, before i go any further, let me just say that the cake stopped me (and everyone else) in our tracks. It was an absolute masterpiece with it’s subtle elegant , almost ‘vintage’ colours and gorgeous flower decorations.  The cake was created by the very famous Jellycakes and was an absolute sight to behold:) The stunning flowers from Highworth Flowers in Swindon,  were perfectly matched to the cake, with their fresh muted colours and minted greens. Absolutely lovely. The reception room looked amazing and once the speeches were over and the cake was cut, it was time for the long awaited first dance.

All in all a really lovely wedding day at a ‘picture perfect’ venue. The staff at the Crown of Crucis are just amazing and it’s thanks to them that the day flowed so well and everything happened timeously. If you are getting married in the Cotswolds, the Crown of Crucis is a venue that should be seriously considered:)

James and Kerry wrote a really lovely review for me on my Facebook page and I really appreciate their kind words, ” Tanli was the photographer at our wedding this year, including a pre-wedding shoot. The photographs are absolutely stunning – she is very passionate about her work and was a pleasure to work with. I was particularly nervous about the pre-wedding shoot as I’d never done anything like that before, but her friendly manner soon put me at ease and we were very pleased with the results. Tanli is also skilled at working with large groups of people and is assertive when needed, but her passion is clearly candid photography and this really shows in the quality of these kinds of shots. She has an ability to capture people at their most relaxed which is a real talent. Thank you Tanli – we’d highly recommended you to anyone!
