A sunny Jenners Barn wedding …

I was really looking forward to Abi and Joe’s Jenners Barn wedding in Fairford as  it was not a venue I had worked at before and it’s always exciting to shoot at new places.  I meet all my couples on their pre-wedding shoot and by the time the Big day arrives we are really comfortable with each other which makes for capturing authentic images easier.

St Mary’s Church, Kempsford

Abi and Joe had chosen to get married at St Mary’s church in Kempsford and what a lovely choice of church that was. I always arrive early for all my weddings and my early arrival on this day meant that I was given a personal tour of this beautiful old church before I had to start shooting. I really enjoy these moments before a wedding, being around whilst the church is being set up and being able to be part of the lovely buzz in the air.

Arrival by tractor and trailer …

Once Joe and Abi’s family and all the guests had arrived and being seated in the beautiful St Mary’s Church it was time for Abi’s arrival and …. wow, what an arrival :) Abi arrived with her father and bridesmaids by tractor and trailer…..I loved hearing the sound of the tractor coming down the road and enjoyed the smell too….one of those memories that stays in your olfactory senses and it was such a nice touch to the day.  The actual ceremony was lovely with some touching moments, such as when Abi’s son gave such a lovely reading….not a dry eye after that one :) The ceremony was followed by the confetti walk (one of my favourite moments of the day) and then onto the fabulous Jenners Barn for the reception.

Jenners Barn wedding reception …

Jenners Barn, located in the heart of the Cotswolds, outside Fairford, Gloucestershire,  is a stunning Cotswold stone wedding reception and events barn. The barn and the surrounding area are truly wonderful and provide a bespoke venue for your wedding reception as you are allowed to decorate  the venue as you wish.

Guests socialized and had drinks and canapés on the lawn in the lovely sunshine whilst Abi and Joe made their way to the barn via tractor and trailer again. Their arrival was greeted by happy cheers and the reception was underway. At this point I photographed a few of the formal shots and spent a few minutes with Abi and Joe doing their portrait photos. The grounds of Jenners barn are really pretty and you don’t have to walk too far at all to find a lovely spot to shoot in. Guests made their way into the Reception marquee which was beautifully decorated. The highlight of the reception, i have to say, was the best man’s speech! It was definitely no ordinary speech as when he stood up he pretended to have ‘lost his speech’ and ran out the room to go and ‘find’ it…we were then treated to a really amusing and clever show that played on the projector capturing all the antics he was getting up to whilst trying to ‘find’ his speech. It was truly creative and hilarious and one of the joys of being a wedding photographer, is being able to enjoy moments like these.

I wanna dance in the dark …

This fabulous Jenners Barn wedding ended with a great first dance and everyone still partying it up many hours after I had left ….the way it should be!

” I’m so glad we chose Tanli to photograph our wedding. Neither of us are comfortable having our photo taken, but from our first pre-wedding shoot, Tanli made the whole thing so easy. She has the best nature and is bossy enough too ;). We absolutely LOVE our wedding photos and cannot stop looking at them. I would highly recommend Tanli (and often do) for any photography, but particularly for weddings. Thank you Tanli for capturing our day so perfectly.
