An Autumn Stone Barn wedding …
As Sophia Loren said, “if you haven’t cried, your eyes can’t be beautiful”…certainly a room full of beautiful eyes at this stunning Stone Barn wedding. Guests came from all over the world to celebrate the marriage of David and Diana and it was an emotional day from start to finish. Stone Barn wedding venue is situated on a hill with panoramic views over the gorgeous Cotswold countryside. This historic building was transformed into a wedding barn by Cripps & Co, a family-run business that has nearly 30 years experience in creating weddings. Stone barn, well known for its incredible food cooked on the UK’s largest indoor barbeque, is located between Burford and Northleach on the Gloucestershire-Oxfordshire border .
Diana got ready not far from Stone Barn at a beautiful little cottage and her and David requested a ‘first look‘ which is when the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony. This was such a lovely moment to witness and I knew that it was the start to an emotional and incredible day. The ceremony room is absolutely breathtaking at Stone Barn, and Diana looked so beautiful entering the room. Once the ‘I do’s’ were said and the happy couple mingled with guests, the room was prepared for a traditional tea ceremony. This too, was a lovely event to witness. I spent a bit of time with David and Diana taking their portrait shots, the light was very pretty on the day, so we took an easy stroll and I let them have a breather with each other whilst I photographed them. It was lovely and easy and I think the photos have a beautiful relaxed feel about them. And isn’t the light so gorgeous? Once we got back to Stone Barn, it was time for the speeches and the reception dinner. By that stage, the light had changed dramatically and its amazing to see how this room changes with the changing light and as it gets darker the fairy lights start to sparkle and room looks magical. The speeches were very emotional and there was not dry eye around, including my own.
Next up was cake cutting and the first dance. Dizzy Feet Events transformed the ceremony room into such a funky dance-floor and it was great fun capturing these two dancing their first dance…an actual choreographed one for a change and it was lovely to watch. Stone Barn wedding venue is truly a magical and unique Cotswold wedding venue, and I’m looking forward to being back for many more wonderful weddings.
