YOUR COTSWOLDS PRE WEDDING SHOOT

QUESTIONS ANSWERED

No. An engagement shoot is when you would like the actual proposal photographed, such as this lovely couple did. I go into ‘stealth’ mode and photograph the actual ‘down on one knee’ event. A pre wedding shoot, is booked once you are engaged and have set a date for your wedding, and have found your photographer (me please!). The purpose of the pre wed is to help you get a ‘feel’ for being in front of the camera and helps to ease the nerves for the wedding day photos.

Ideally, in my home town, Cirencester, Gloucestershire. The reason for this, is that I book so many during the year and coupled with shooting weddings, I just cannot fit them in if I have to travel for them. Cirencester is a gorgeous market town and combining your prewedding shoot with a delicious lunch in the town, makes for a great day out.

Around 1 1/2 hours or so. We walk, we talk, look for great light to shoot in and it’s really really easy.

Yes! Absolutely.

I would suggest booking a family shoot in this scenario as the pre wedding shoot is very much focused on the ‘two of you’. A family shoot is more suitable if you bring children along as its duration is a little longer and is ‘play based’, which is my shooting method when photographing children. Please visit my family photography web site to see more info on my family shoots.

About 6 months or so. I love to shoot the pre wedding shoot in a season that is different to your wedding day. So an Autumn pre wedding shoot is great for couples having a Spring or Summer wedding and a Summer pre wed shoot great for those having a Winter wedding. This just adds a nice variety to your collection of images.

My pre wedding shoot is priced at £250 if booked with a wedding package, and £300 if booked on it’s own. Many couples use their pre wedding photos for signing boards at their wedding or table placement decoration.

Should you book a pre wedding shoot?

My Cotswolds pre-wedding shoots are about so much more than taking photos. They’re a chance for you to get comfortable in front of the camera, discover that being photographed can actually be fun, and realise you don’t need to know how to pose to look amazing. We’ll get to know each other, build a relaxed rapport, and by the time your wedding day arrives, you’ll feel completely at ease. I’ll also share plenty of little tips along the way that will help you feel even more confident when it matters most.

BANISH THE WEDDING DAY NERVES…

I’ve had many an anxious groom arrive and tell me he ‘hates having his photo taken’ and has reluctantly agreed to ‘this pre wedding shoot’ and has envisioned an awkward and tortuous experience ahead, only to be told an hour later that ‘it was so much more fun and so much easier than he thought it was going to be”. I’ve had a few couples even mention that the pre wed was MORE enjoyable than going on a date together !

HAPPY HAPPY WORDS

“Her warm, professional presence made us feel so comfortable on the day, and she somehow managed to be everywhere at once without ever being intrusive. “
