CHELTENHAM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

HELLO! IT’S ME!

I figure choosing YOUR wedding photographer, is not just based on the actual photographs you will receive, but also a little on the personality you are going to spend most of your day with..

  • I’m ridiculously sentimental and I see the emotion in the tiniest of things. I think this certainly helps me on my photography journey.
  • I LOVE people. I find people fascinating and I see the beauty in every person I meet.
  • I find JOY in conversation; whether that’s with a 5 year old child or an 80 year old , I believe that everyone has something interesting to say.
  • I LOVE shooting weddings and meeting all the interesting and wonderful characters that come with them. I cry during the speeches!
  • I absolutely love ‘LOVE’ and photographing it in all its forms.

“I have experienced a fair amount of loss in my life, so I really do value the importance of family, relationships and friendships. I put my heart and soul into documenting these very special connections for you.”

A FEW THINGS ABOUT ME

MY NAME

I’m Tanli (pronounced like Stanley but without the ‘S’ ). My parents made up my name…on the spot..no  exotic origin .  My mum thought I was going to be a boy and had settled on the name ‘Russel’, but turns out, I wasn’t a boy and they had to think of a new name,  pronto!

WHERE AM I FROM?

I am South African. I left the heat and the dust and the expanse of beautiful Africa and moved to the green and old and cold of the beautiful Cotswolds,UK. I miss Africa and waking up to 32 degrees at 8 am on a Sunday morning BUT I love England and now wear ‘jumpers’ ….a lot!

LITTLE LOVES

I have 2 cats, Kodak (on the right) and Agfa. I love Kodak slightly more than I love Agfa, but thankfully Agfa cannot read this!
I also have 2 children, but love them both the same!

‘Legends of the Fall’ , followed closely by ‘The Last Of the Mohicans’, or maybe ‘The English Patient’…I can’t decide! I also love ‘The Life of Pi’ and the Marvel movies, actually this is a silly question as there are too many choices!

ARE YOU STILL SEARCHING FOR YOUR CHELTENHAM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?

As a Cheltenham wedding photographer , I have the most incredible and sought after wedding venues, all within a 40 mile radius of me.

Beautiful Cotswold Barn wedding venues such as Oxleaze Barn, Kingscote Barn, Cripps Barn, Stone Barn, The Great Tythe Barn and Lapstone Barn to name a few. Gorgeous boutique hotels too such as the Cotswold House Hotel in Chipping Campden and The Manor House in Moreton in Marsh. Exquisite venues such as the incredible Caswell House in Brize Norton and Hyde House in Stow on the Wold, are just a stone’s throw from me too.

Being a recommended supplier for Cotswold venues is valuable, as it means that venues trust me with their couples , respect my work and enjoy having my images linked to their venue. And it means they like me, which I think is so important too.

13 GREAT QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR CHELTENHAM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

what is
MY STYLE?

My shooting style produces natural flattering images that never look posed or forced. I love for personalities to shine through in my images and I strive to capture moments that are candid and emotive. So, you will get a beautiful mix of flattering portraits combined with documentary shooting.

My editing style is the ‘look’ you see on my web site . I like to stay true to the colours on the day but give them extra ‘pop’ and life in the editing process. Editing styles or trends, such as turning everything a little ‘orange’ or ‘desaturating the greens’ will date over the years and images can become ‘stale’ when edited in that manner (just think about all those instagram filters that go in and out of ‘fashion’). If you’ve spent many hours choosing a specific pink for your flowers or spent hours choosing suits of a certain colour, then I will stay true to that in my edit.
