I have experienced a fair amount of loss in my life, so I really do value the importance of family, relationships and friendships. I put my heart and soul into documenting these very special connections for you.
Over the last 10 years, I’ve photographed more than 300 weddings across the Cotswolds, Cirencester, Cheltenham, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire and have received over 160 five-star Google reviews . Many of my wedding couples return to me for their family photography, and being trusted to capture these milestones over the years is truly so rewarding.

ABOUT ME
MY NAME
I’m Tanli (pronounced like Stanley but without the ‘S’ ). My parents made up my name…on the spot..no exotic origin . My mum thought I was going to be a boy and had settled on the name ‘Russel’, but turns out, I wasn’t a boy and they had to think of a new name, pronto!
WHERE AM I FROM?
I am South African. I left the heat and the dust and the expanse of beautiful Africa and moved to the green and old and cold of the beautiful Cotswolds ,UK. I miss Africa and waking up to 32 degrees at 8 am on a Sunday morning BUT I love England and now wear ‘jumpers’ ….a lot!
LITTLE LOVES
I have 2 cats, Kodak (on the right) and Agfa. I love Kodak slightly more than I love Agfa, but thankfully Agfa cannot read this!
I also have 2 children, but love them both the
same :)!
MY FAVOURITE MOVIE
‘Legends of the Fall’ , followed closely by ‘The Last Of the Mohicans’, or maybe ‘The English Patient’…I can’t decide! I also love ‘The Life of Pi’ and the ‘Marvel’ movies, actually this is a silly question as there are too many choices!

HAVE I ALWAYS BEEN A PHOTOGRAPHER?
I used to be a competitive showjumper and dressage rider and had 2 horses.. I miss them terribly and yearn to ride again. I also used to be a Marketing Manager, but I don’t miss that at all!

All I can say is YAY!!!! There were definitely some tears last night when we sat down to view our photos 🥹 It was so beautiful to experience the day again and Tanli captured the day perfectly. Tanli was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! From the beginning, she was approachable, friendly, and offered her advice whilst always accepting our wishes. On the day, Tanli made us feel completely at ease and although we aren’t the most photogenic people, she worked her magic and were left with so many photos that we will treasure for ever! 💛 Everyone commented as-well about how lovely she was- we couldn’t have asked for more. Tanli was such an amazing photographer, she helped me coordinate my surprise proposal in the Cotswolds - she was flexible on the day to find a sliver of sun (as it was meant to rain!), made us feel at ease/comfortable with a photoshoot, and went the extra mile to create a memorable experience for both of us! From the moment I reached out to Tanli she was amazing so quick with her communication and happy to be flexible in her packages to suit us. On the day Tanli arrived early to make sure she was familiar with the location and was friendly and easy to get along with yet made sure everything stayed on track. Tanli took all the stress off me as I didn’t want to make anymore decisions, she just took control of everything and boy I’m glad she did! We absolutely LOVE our pictures she couldn’t have captured us and our day any better. Loved receiving our wedding photos as it meant we got to re-live the most special day. We are so happy with them and they really showcase what the day meant to us - a small and intimate, family only wedding with a lot of love and this is really clear in the photos. From 1st contact to the last contact with Tanli, she was a pleasure to work with. Very reasonably priced too. She really took lead on the day and kept everyone in check which was great as it meant we didnt have to, and were able to enjoy being in the moment. She was so lovely and so passionate about what she does. She knew where to go for the best photos. I would highly recommend Tanli and so glad we chose her!
Tanli was absolutely incredible for our wedding day, from the moment she came into my dressing room she was calm and wonderful! I’m organised (I have a timeline that we go through together a few days before), punctual (always too early) and completely committed to capturing your wedding to the best of my ability. I take my role so seriously, that I never order a take away if I’m shooting a wedding in the next few days as I worry I get food poisoning! Seriously…it’s true!!
What CAN WE EXPECT FROM OUR wedding photos?
All the emotion, connection and spontaneity of your day, alongside natural, flattering portraits you will love.
My style is very natural and documentary-led. I won’t spend your wedding day constantly pulling you away from your guests or arranging every detail of what happens next. Most of the time, I’ll simply be watching, anticipating what’s about to happen and getting myself in the right place to photograph it.
But documentary doesn’t mean completely ‘hands-off.’
I also want you to have gorgeous photographs of the two of you that you absolutely love. So when it’s time for portraits, I’ll give you some simple direction and help you find flattering light, good backgrounds and natural ways of interacting. Nothing stiff, complicated or overly posed.
