BAY TREE BURFORD WEDDING | A pre Christmas winter wedding

Jenny and Sam’s pre-Christmas Bay Tree Burford wedding was the perfect celebration of winter in the Cotswolds. With the venue dressed for Christmas, candlelight throughout the hotel, a ceremony in the beautiful conservatory and an unforgettable evening celebration, it was such a wonderful day to photograph. The ceremony was followed by confetti, which was pretty great to shoot as the confetti was a ‘snow confetti’. I love how the pictures turned out though I think Jenny and Sam were still covered in the stuff when I left later that evening.

The highlight of the wedding day, for me, was the appearance of Nick, the singing waiter! I’ve photographed over 250 weddings to date, and have yet to have experienced a singing waiter! I think all weddings should have one from this point onwards. He was absolutely incredible, from pretending to trip and drop a tray full of spoons to having the guests up on their feet and dancing on the tables. Absolutely epic and I loved every minute of his performance.

December weddings always require careful planning because daylight disappears so early. We made time for Jenny and Sam’s portraits before sunset, allowing them to enjoy the rest of their wedding without leaving their guests for long.

As the evening celebrations got underway, the Bay Tree looked especially beautiful in the glow of candlelight and Christmas decorations. The surprise performance from the singing waiters had guests laughing, singing and dancing on the tables from the very first song, creating the perfect start to an unforgettable evening.
