From Rain to Golden Hour | Becky & Craig’s Kingscote Barn Wedding
If someone had told me halfway through Becky and Craig’s wedding day that we’d end up with one of the most spectacular golden hours I’ve photographed at Kingscote Barn, I probably wouldn’t have believed them. It rained. A lot!
For much of the day, the skies stayed stubbornly grey, and umbrellas became part of the wedding story. But one thing I loved about Becky and Craig was that they never let the weather become the focus. They were there to marry each other, celebrate with the people they love, and enjoy every minute of the day, whatever the forecast had in store.
Then, just as everyone had settled into the evening celebrations, everything changed. The clouds began to part and the sun broke through, bathing the surrounding countryside in the most beautiful golden light. We slipped outside for just ten minutes, leaving the party behind long enough to capture these gorgeous golden hour portraits.
The rain had left everything looking rich and vibrant, and the warm evening light gave the whole landscape the most beautiful glow. Sometimes you really do have to trust the weather!

These ten minutes gave Becky and Craig some of my favourite photographs from their day. The light, the skies and the beautiful countryside all came together perfectly, and Becky and Craig simply got to enjoy a quiet few minutes together before heading back to their guests.
Golden hour really is my favourite light to photograph in, and this was definitely one of those moments that made waiting through all the rain worthwhile. I love golden hour so much I even wrote a blog post about it, where I talk about what and when golden hour is and planning for it on your wedding day.

Then, just as everyone had settled into the evening celebrations, everything changed. The clouds began to part, the sun broke through, and the entire Cotswold landscape was bathed in the most incredible golden light. It was one of those moments photographers dream about. We quietly slipped outside for ten minutes, leaving the party behind just long enough to capture some truly unforgettable portraits. The rain had left the countryside looking rich and vibrant, and the warm evening light wrapped everything in a beautiful golden glow. It was proof that sometimes the best wedding photographs come after the worst weather.
Those ten minutes gave Becky and Craig some of my favourite images I’ve ever created at Kingscote Barn. Epic skies, stunning light and two people completely wrapped up in each other. KINGSCOTE BARN EVENING CELEBRATIONS
As evening fell, Kingscote Barn looked even more beautiful, with the warm candlelight creating the perfect atmosphere for the celebrations. After heartfelt speeches and plenty of laughter, Becky and Craig shared their first dance before family and friends filled the dance floor to round off a wonderful day.
