COLOURFUL SUMMER OXLEAZE BARN WEDDING | Hay bales and confetti

I love a colourful Summer wedding ! Oxleaze Barn, situated near Lechlade in the Cotswolds, is a gorgeous rustic barn on a working farm. Expect to be surrounded by chickens, horses and ducks on your wedding day. Once, when I was there, there was a brand new litter of puppies which just made the day more magical.

Liam and Jenny’s day was glorious. Jenny got ready in the Dutch Barns, surrounded by her bridesmaids and her mother. Liam spent the morning decorating the barn and setting up the various outdoor games the couple had chosen. Jenny’s walk down the aisle was emotional, and she looked absolutely stunning in her very beautiful and quite unique wedding dress. Liam was really nervous and I love the shot of him peering down the aisle as Jenny arrives. Once the ‘I do’s’ were done, and the nerves were settled, the couple could really enjoy their day.

The weather was lovely, so the guests took full advantage of enjoying Oxleaze Barn’s beautiful outdoor space. After that, it was time for the evening meal and of course, the long awaited speeches. I’m not sure what makes a groom more nervous ; the actual ceremony or the speech! Either way, Liam nailed both of these events and he and Jenny did a really heart-warming and funny joint speech.

After the meal, I took Liam and Jenny for a relaxed stroll as the sun was getting lower in the sky and I think we got some really beautiful portraits of the two of them. I don’t fancy shooting in bright midday light, so I always wait for the sun to get a little lower as the light it creates is then softer and much prettier. Before we headed back for the cake cutting and first dance, we gathered the bridal party and did such a fun ‘confetti canon’ shot in the nearby field! It was great fun.

This was a wonderful ‘sun drenched’ colourful Summer Oxleaze Barn wedding, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I do love shooting at this venue all year round, no matter the weather, but it’s always lovely to enjoy some sunshine if it comes my way!
