CRIPPS BARN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

What an honour it is being a Cripps Barn wedding photographer. This unique barn wedding venue, set amongst the beautiful Cotswold countryside, is very loved and sought after for its rustic and almost medieval charm and. Catalin and Gabriela’s wedding had that easy, relaxed feel where nothing felt forced and everything felt so easy. The whole day unfolded in that lovely, natural way you can’t really plan (no matter how many spreadsheets are involved).

SO INCREDIBLE

“Tanli was so incredible during our wedding and she managed to perfectly capture the most natural photos. The communication with her before the wedding was spot on and she was so nice to collaborate with on the wedding day. On top of all that, she’s just an amazing person, full of joy, enthusiasm and very kind. When things went slightly wrong on our behalf, she was very accommodating with everything.”

CRIPPS BARN WEDDING BRIDAL PREP AT THE FLEECE HOTEL

Gabriela got ready at The Fleece in Cirencester, and the morning somehow struck that rare balance between calm and quietly excited, which is no small achievement considering how easily wedding mornings can tip in the direction of mild chaos. There is always a point during the morning where the energy shifts slightly and it all starts to feel very real. Gabriela held that moment so beautifully, carrying a quiet sense of anticipation without any of the usual rush or ‘overwhelm’. I do love the picture of her sitting so beautifully in her wedding dress.

OUTDOOR CRIPPS BARN WEDDING CEREMONY

Once at Cripps Barn, the sun made a very welcome appearance and the outdoor ceremony felt warm, relaxed, and full of those wonderful little moments that tend to mean the most later on. Catalin’s reaction when he saw Gabriela managed to say everything without a single word, which, as a Cripps Barn wedding photographer, is always the moment you are quietly hoping to document.

CRIPPS BARN NATURAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

One of my favourite parts of the day is stepping away for a little while with my couples and taking some really natural, relaxed portraits, without it ever feeling like a big “photoshoot” moment. It’s usually more about a wander, a bit of a chat, finding some lovely light, and just giving you a chance to be together for a few minutes, rather than standing still and being told what to do. I gently guide where needed, but I steer clear of anything that feels stiff or awkward, so your photos still feel like ‘you’.

WHISKEY, CIGARS AND A VERY GOOD EVENING

After dinner, things slowed down in the best way, with whiskey and cigars out on the terrace as the light softened and everyone settled into that cosy, end-of-day feeling. It was one of those simple touches that somehow makes the whole evening feel even more special — a bit indulgent, very relaxed, and very ‘Catalin and Gabriela’.

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that 95% of the day is spent capturing your wedding ‘reportage style’? Reportage wedding photography, also known as documentary or photojournalistic wedding photography, focuses on capturing candid and spontaneous moments throughout the wedding day. This style emphasizes storytelling, aiming to narrate the events as they unfold naturally, without intervention or posing. These natural, candid and emotive images make up the bulk of your wedding gallery and I think most modern contemporary wedding photographers shoot in this manner.
