Hyde House September wedding

HYDE HOUSE SEPTEMBER WEDDING

Stephen and Jen’s Hyde House September wedding was blessed with beautiful weather. Hyde House is such a lovely wedding venue to photograph, with its beautiful countryside setting, historic buildings and light-filled spaces. There are so many different areas to use throughout the day, which means the photographs can feel varied and natural without having to spend lots of time moving around.

GETTING READY AT HYDE HOUSE

Stephen got ready in the stunning Victoria Manor House, whilst Jen had the absolutely beautiful space which is full of light, at the top of the barn. The bridal prep room at Hyde House is just gorgeous. It is full of natural light, with large windows and doors bringing the outside in. It is one of my favourite types of space for photographing bridal preparations because there is so much lovely light to work with.

I always try to keep this part of the day relaxed and natural. There are so many little moments happening while everyone is getting ready – the dress going on, flowers arriving, final touches to hair and makeup, champagne, hugs and all the excitement building before the ceremony.

These are often the photographs that bring back the atmosphere of the morning years later, so I like to document what is actually happening rather than interrupting everything to create lots of posed photographs.

A SEPTEMBER CEREMONY IN THE GRANGE

The ceremony took place in the Grange, with its magnificent views over the countryside below. The natural light in the Grange is just gorgeous and I love shooting ceremonies here. Once the ceremony was over, guests were able to head outside and enjoy the sunshine. I love this part of a wedding day because everyone has relaxed a little. The formal part is over, drinks are flowing and people are simply enjoying being together. It also gives me plenty of opportunities to photograph all those lovely, unplanned moments ; conversations between friends, family catching up, laughter and children running around. The weather was lovely, so guests had the opportunity to enjoy the sunshine outside.

RELAXED PORTRAIT PHOTOS AT HYDE HOUSE

One of my favourite things about photographing weddings at Hyde House is that there is plenty of opportunity to take beautiful portraits without making the couple disappear from their wedding for ages.

I take a very documentary approach to weddings, so the majority of the day is about photographing things as they happen. I want you to remember not just what your wedding looked like, but what it actually felt like.

I’ll always make time for some beautiful portraits of the two of you, but I don’t want you spending your whole afternoon posing for photographs. Instead, we’ll take a little time away together, usually somewhere around the venue where we can make the most of the beautiful Cotswold surroundings and the light. Then you can get back to your guests and enjoy the rest of your day.

A GORGEOUS HYDE HOUSE SEPTEMBER WEDDING

September is such a lovely time of year for a Cotswold wedding. The days can still be warm and bright, while the softer light towards the end of the afternoon can be beautiful for photographs. Stephen and Jen’s day had that lovely combination of beautiful surroundings, sunshine, lots of happy people and all the little moments that make a wedding completely personal to the couple.

I hope you enjoy looking through some of my favourite photographs from their Hyde House September wedding.
